Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions in 2015

Congratulations to the Year 10 students (shown in the photo above) who completed their DofE Bronze assessed expedition in June 2015. The expedition took place over a June weekend and pupils set off with clear skies and the sun on their backs. All groups navigated themselves successfully from their start point to the camp site, and after setting up camp and cooking a hot dinner, all sat around the fire and enjoyed a few marshmallows and stories. The navigation in this area proved a significant challenge with a few unplanned detours. However, all the teams kept going and eventually found their routes, ensuring that they arrived safely, feeling justifiably pleased with themselves. The students showed incredible resilience and strength of character as they dealt with the rain, getting lost, heavy rucksacks, sore feet and tired team-mates. They were all still smiling at the end and we are delighted that everybody passed with flying colours.
