Basketball Team Wins London College Cup Championship

“Having gone undefeated in the London Basketball Associations (LBA) league, Haggerston had a lot to live up to in their final game, against Quintin Kynaston (QK). Having previously played the Pool A Champions (American School in London) and winning 51-47 had undoubtedly sent out a loud message to the rest of the college league. Arriving in QK’s home court, cameras set up to film and livestream the game and the pressure was high. The game had started, and for two quarters Haggerston had maintained a small but advantageous lead. During the 3rd quarter, the game’s atmosphere got intense, starting the quarter, Haggerston had a 2 point lead. All players from both teams had been trying their hardest to score as many points to set themselves up for the final quarter. Haggerston had successfully managed to get an 11 point lead, to aid them in the final quarter. Last quarter, Haggerston had kept the lead throughout, QK tried very hard to reduce the gap, only managing to be 3 points behind, but having continuous successive fast breaks the lead Haggerston had created was immense, and that was it, the final whistle had gone off (55-45) and Haggerston had won the LBA College League Championship for Pool B! The first year Haggerston had competed in the LBA, and a very clear statement was made.”
