Barbican Box Music Project

A spirited group of year 7 students took centre stage at the Barbican earlier this month as part of the third annual Barbican Box Music project. As in the previous two years, the work of Haggerston students – both  in their confident delivery and the high quality of their compositional work – was a definite highlight of the sharing event, with the school holding its own against predominantly older students from other East London schools. Using the theme “Having A Voice”, students were encouraged to create their own work using items from the Box as compositional stimulus; the results, this year, were assured and candid, with lyrics telling a dark story about murky goings on at New Years Eve. Having directed and organised the project, Mr Gregory was justly proud of the achievements of these young students.
