The Home School Agreement
The aim of the Home School Partnership Agreement is to create a harmonious school community and ensure alignment to Haggerston School’s values and aims so that we can work together to support each young person to develop their creativity, character and aspiration
As a school, we undertake to:
- Create a culture which fosters students’ aspiration, creativity and character in line with our core values. We will celebrate and reward student success.
- Provide an outstanding programme of study in line with the National Curriculum guidelines
- Set challenging work and give regular feedback
- Monitor progress and achievement, give regular reports and hold annual parents’ evenings during which progress can be discussed
- Implement a strict code of behaviour to ensure a safe and caring environment
- Make sure parents/guardians are kept well informed about any developments regarding their child’s work or behaviour
- Promote the values of respect, tolerance and kindness
As a parent/carer, I accept the offer of a place at Haggerston School and will:
- Ensure that my child attends school every day, on time
- Contact the school whenever my child is absent from school
- Meet with the school, whenever appropriate, to support the progress of my child
- Ensure my child completes their homework
- Read and support the school’s behaviour policy
- Ensure that my child wears the full school uniform everyday, including in the community on the way to and from school
- Read all communication from school and regularly review their child’s progress on ClassCharts and the DPR.
- Ensure that the school has up to date contact details
- Promote the values of respect, tolerance and kindness
- Encourage my child to engage with all opportunities provided outside the core school day
As a student, I will:
- Attend school every day, on time and carry all correct books and equipment
- Attend all my lessons, on time
- Give 100% effort at all times
- Wear my full school uniform
- Help to provide a safe and calm environment by adhering to the school’s behaviour policy and follow instructions first time, every time
- Check homework every day on the DPR and meet all set homework deadlines
- Display politeness to others at all times, showing respect, tolerance and kindness
- Engage with all relevant opportunities provided outside the core school day
