We are delighted with a fantastic set of A-Level results this year. 53% A*-B grades – a 16% increase on last year’s results. In terms of progress, these are the best results we have ever had, placing us in the top 20% of sixth forms nationally. 78% of students achieved A*-B grades in Physics, 50% in Maths and 100% in Further Maths. Now our Science and Maths outcomes are competing with our great Arts results.
Around half of our students have been accepted onto courses at Russell Group Universities, including Warwick and Bristol, studying a range of courses such as Law, Biochemistry and English Literature. It is a great testimony to their hard work and the support and commitment of the Sixth Form staff.
Particular mentions go to Poppy Pierce, who achieved A*AAA. She will be volunteering in medical centres and hospitals in Ghana during a gap year before embarking on a degree in Medicine. Stuart Carrion-Rivas achieved ABB and secured his first choice university place at Bristol to study Aerospace Engineering. Vadiya Kirby achieved ABBC and will study Mechanical Engineering at Bath. Enes Sahin achieved ABB and will study Physics at Kings College. Karishma Kaur achieved ABB and will study Biomedical Science at Kings College.
We are extremely proud of all our sixth formers today and wish them happiness and success as they start university in September.
2018 A Level Subject Grades:
|A2 Further Maths||100||100||100||5|
We are very proud to announce another excellent set of A level, AS level and BTEC results and would like to congratulate all of our students and teachers for their hard work. At A-Level, once again the pass rate is 100% and the percentage of grades at A*-B has increased again to 37%. The vast majority of students have been accepted onto university courses including Russell Group universities. Particular congratulations to Ali Bahcaci and Sulayman Desai who both obtained A*AAA.
At AS level we are celebrating another improvement in outcomes with 31% of grades at A-B and 46% at A-C.
Today at Haggerston we are celebrating with students who have been rewarded for all of their hard work with excellent AS, A level and BTEC results.
Once again, we are celebrating a 100% pass rate at A level. Amongst many excellent subject performances, we are delighted with outcomes in sociology where 67% of A level grades were A*-B. Over 70% of our year 13 students have already received offers from their university or training programme of choice, and those who are yet to receive offers will continue to be supported to ensure that they progress to further education, employment or training.
At AS level we are celebrating an improvement in outcomes with 43% of grades at A-C and an overall pass rate of 80%.
Congratulations to all students!
Students were celebrating excellent individual A level and BTEC results today, and the school its best ever sixth form results overall. Highest grades were obtained by Franca Chidera Onyeama, with five A levels (A* AAAB), Nadia Yates-Stephenson, with four (A* AAD), Safwana Abdulrashid (A* BB) and Selcan Findicoklu (ABB). All of these students are going to Russell Group universities. Most of the year group have had university places or apprenticeships confirmed today.
This year’s results overall show 100% pass rate at A level, with 45% of the grades from A* to B – a fantastic outcome, and a wonderful tribute to the hard work of all the students, the school staff and the support of their families.
BTEC results were also excellent with 97% of students passing the qualification and 31% of the grades being D* or D, indicating distinctions, which are the highest grades.
At AS, the pass rate was 78%, with 18% being grades at A* to B.
(These figures are invariably lower than final A level results each year because most students across the UK study four subjects in the first year of the sixth form, and will now choose to focus on their three best subjects next year, and drop their fourth before applying to university or an apprenticeship.)
95% of A level entries are passes, and 26% of entries at the highest grades from A*-B.
Congratulations to all students on their excellent results, and good luck to everyone as they progress on to university, an apprenticeship or employment.
Haggerston students celebrated another outstanding set of A level exam results in 2013, with the Sixth form’s second cohort achieving an impressive array of examination successes. Overall the sixth form averaged 755.9 points per student, above previous national averages.
These results included the first ever Haggerston Sixth Form student to attain a place at Cambridge, with her stunning results of A*,A*,A, B. Gokce is going on to read History at Newnham College, Cambridge.
