Student Wellbeing Week
We held our first student wellbeing week on 28th March – 1st April 2022. It was a great success!
We started with assemblies on Monday where we educated and informed students on wellbeing and encouraged them to celebrate by taking part in a variety of extra activities staff prepared for them.
There was a display by the canteen and around the school signs reminded students to “Take a moment”, “Breathe” and “Smile” – These reminders were in the shape of huge oversized post-it notes (thanks to Ms Haynes).
Key stage three students were asked to do something for themselves this week rather than homework and by the attendance at the general knowledge quiz, mindfulness colouring, chess and cooking club, it seemed they had taken this request very seriously!
The professional yoga teacher we bought in on Tuesday said “I just wanted to say a big thank you for yesterday! I was very impressed with the students and the wisdom that came through when I asked them questions!! Wow, what a great bunch.”
I think the below photographs show just how much fun students have had this week. A huge thankyou to all the staff who gave up their time to run sessions.
